Medal success for glens of antrim tug of war club at UK championships.

The Glens club travelled to Dumfries recently to compete in the UK championships among some of the best indoor teams in the world and returned with silver medals in the mixed 4 men 4 ladies competition at 550 kg and the ladies 520 kgs.
the mixed competition was the highlight of the weekend when after a hards days pulling the glens team came up aginst BRC of Scotland in the final both teams had met in the round robin part of the competion earlier taking 1 pull each . the glens team won the first pull by out powering  BRC straight to the line the second and third pull were at lot closer with the Scotch team made up of multiple world medal winners taking both ends after a hard fight from a tireing glens team.
The Glens Club will run a competition on Sat 9th Feb at Ballymena North 3pm sharp. This will be the last competition before they leave for Italy to compete in the World Championships.
